Carlogie Dam Fishery
The weather was less than favorable .. i think the latin term is "Balticus Maximus" with snow at the start of the day and wind throughout the day making some pegs all but unfishable except to the "die hards"... these stalwart guys that fished reguardless of conditions to enjoy the simplicity of a days fishing and absolutely nothing to do with being potentially the only blank of the day at one point but without mentioning names Don did well and came away with fish. Indeed no one blanked which is credit to the stocking policy of the fishery.
We were treated to very welcome bacon rolls and coffee to start the day and a "light lunch" followed of Stovies and BBQ sausages which was much appreciated.
The fishery has a varied stiocking policy and it looked like a species hunt at one point with Browns, Rainbows and Brookies all being taken... at this point I'll glaze over the Golden Trout worth £100 that is still free... but only just.
The taking flies ranged from Yellow Dancers to buzzers such was the diversity of the feeding fish.. and on that point if someone lost a cats whisker on the fence i know where it is!!!!
All in all it was a very good day with lots of banter no blanks and no one fell in.
Thanks once again to Geoff, Stewart, Pete and Colin without whom the day would not have been the success it was.
