Well at last after 3 attempts we managed to get some fishing done. Our 4th outing was out of Arbroath 25th June there were over 200 fish caught which included Cod, Pollock, Wrasse, Coallie, Scorpion fish and Mackarel. The top bag was 56lbs 8ozs caught by Don Mackezie the heaviest fish was a cod of 5lbs caught by Jim Bett. Our next trip will be (weather permitting) out of Berwick-on-Tweed Sat 16th July. Cheers Donald
Our 5th trip was out of Berwick-on-Tweed Sat 16th July. Winds were lightish the down side was it pored with rain from start to finish with a lot of the showers being very heavy for prolonged periods still there were plenty of fish being caught including cod---wrasse---ling---pouting---coallies---mackerel. The heaviest fish caught was a cod of 10lbs 8ozs by one of our guest anglers Willie Murray the heaviest fish caught by members ( 3 had the same weight ) was 5lbs 4ozs. Top bag on the day was Sam Noble with a weight of 46lbs 4ozs. Our next trip will be the CSSC boat championships Sun 24th July out of Arbroath we have one team entered. Our 6th trip will be out of Arbroath Sat 13th Aug there are still some places to fill. Cheers Donald
We fished the CSSC boat championships out of Arbroath Sunday 24th July the weather and tides were against us which made for very poor fishing. Unfortuneately Rosyth came a poor 3rd. GALLAC A were the winners with a total weight of 38lbs for the team of 4 , GALLAC B 2nd with 26lbs we had 18lbs. Rosyth did not have any of the prizes for the first time in many a year. Cheers Donald
6th Trip was out of Arbroath 13th Aug this was cancelled due to bad weather.
7th Trip was out of Berwick-on-Tweed Sat 27th Aug. For a time during the week we thought it was going to be cancelled but the weather people got it wrong and we managed to get out but alas the fishing was not all that great unless you were after Mackarel. The heaviest bag on the day was 37lbs 8ozs caught by Don Mackenzie. The heaviest fish was caught by one of our guests Scott Mackenzie with a Ling weighing 15lbs 8ozs one of the biggest fish caught on a club trip for many a year. Our 8th Trip will be weather permitting out of Arbroath Sat 10th Sept. Cheers Donald
We had to cancel our 8th trip out of Arbroath Sat 10th Sept again due to bad weather. We did however manage to fish our 9th and last trip out of Berwick-on-Tweed Sat 1st Oct but our problem this time was we had no wind and this made for poor fishing due to the fact we were hardly drifting at all. Never satisfied are we. Never the less the top bag for the day was
- Al Ritchie with 15lbs 4ozs.
- Sam Noble was 2nd with 12lbs.
The sea section results for 2011 are taking the best 3 results from 4 compititions:-
- Club Champion :-D. Mackenzie with 323pts.
- R/up :- A.Ritchie 271pts in 3rd place was S.Noble 234pts.
- Heaviest Basket 56lbs 8ozs D.Mackenzie.
- Heaviest Agg Basket D.Mackenzie.
- Heaviest fish 5lbs 4ozs (Cod) J.Bett,S.Noble & D.Mackenzie all with the same weight.
